I. Preparations before Startup
Wear protective gear
Wear work clothes, safety shoes and protective glasses
Fasten the cuffs tightly. Do not operate with a scarf or gloves on (to prevent being drawn into the rotating main shaft).
People with long hair must tuck their hair into the work cap
Equipment inspection and cleaning
Check whether the power line is in good condition and the grounding is reliable
Clean the anti-rust oil and impurities from the column, guide rail and the taper hole of the main shaft. After wiping them clean, apply oil for lubrication
Check if the oil level in the oil window meets the standard and if the coolant is sufficient (it is recommended to keep it at around 200 liters).
Tool and workpiece preparation
Check whether the drill bit, reducer sleeve, fixture and other cutting tools are in good condition, with matching taper and no damage
The workpiece should be firmly clamped on the worktable. Small pieces must be fixed with pressure plates or special fixtures. It is strictly prohibited to drill by hand
Ⅱ. Operating Procedures
Adjust position and lock
Loosen the rocker arm and the locking device of the spindle box, move the rocker arm to an appropriate height, adjust the lateral position of the spindle box, and align the drill bit with the processing point
Be sure to relock the rocker column and the spindle box to prevent displacement during processing and cause an accident
Sets the parameter
Select the appropriate spindle speed and feed rate based on the workpiece material (such as steel, copper, plastic) and the diameter of the drill bit
Soft materials (copper, plastic) can be used at higher speeds
Hard materials (steel) should be selected at low speeds to prevent the drill bit from overheating or breaking
Refer to the recommended parameter table on the machine tool nameplate for setting
Startup and trial run
Connect the power supply, jog the main shaft motor briefly, and confirm that the rotation direction is correct (usually clockwise)
Run it no-load for 1 to 2 minutes and observe if there are any abnormal sounds, vibrations or oil leaks
Start drilling
Start the coolant pump to ensure that the drill bit is continuously lubricated and cooled down
First, gently press the feed. After the drill bit cuts into the workpiece, feed normally
When performing deep hole processing, pay attention to chip removal to avoid iron filings blocking and causing the drill bit to break
When the drill is about to pass through, manual feed should be changed to reduce the feed force to prevent workpiece deformation or drill bit chipping
tapping operation (if applicable)
Lubricate with special tapping oil to reduce friction and temperature
During the tapping process, the left hand stabilizes the spindle while the right hand controls the forward and reverse rotation handle
After inserting the thread, push gently. When approaching completion, reverse and exit to prevent the tap from getting stuck
Ⅲ. Safety Precautions
It is strictly prohibited to change tools, measure workpieces or clean iron filings when the equipment is in operation
Long iron filings must be removed with an iron hook or brush after the vehicle is stopped. It is strictly forbidden to pull them by hand or blow them away with your mouth
When performing automatic feeding, the limit blocks should be set properly to prevent the equipment from being damaged by hitting the limit position
If any abnormality is detected (abnormal noise, smoke, overheating), immediately press the emergency stop button, cut off the power supply and report for repair
During operation, no one is allowed to leave the post. It is strictly forbidden for others to enter the swing range of the rocker arm (±180°).
Iv. Shutdown and Daily Maintenance
After the operation is completed,
Lift the main shaft and withdraw the drill bit
Move the headstock to a position close to the column, lower the rocker arm to the lowest point and clamp it
Cut off the main power supply and clean the iron filings and coolant
Daily maintenance
Before leaving work every day, wipe the guide rails and lead screws and apply oil to prevent rust
Clean the oil filter screen regularly and replace the coolant once a month
Check if there is any oil leakage in the hydraulic system and whether the electrical joints are loose
