The adjustment of the square column vertical drilling machine mainly includes the adjustment of the worktable position, spindle height, spindle speed and feed rate, balance force, and Angle inclination, etc. The purpose is to ensure processing accuracy and operational safety. The following are the specific adjustment methods:
I. Adjustment of workbench Position and height
Up and down movement : Loosen the locking handle on the column, and move the worktable up and down along the column guide rail manually or by motor. After adjusting to the appropriate height, re-lock it.
Lateral and longitudinal movement : The A-type square column vertical drill is equipped with A three-way moving worktable (lateral, longitudinal, and lifting), which can be adjusted according to the position of the workpiece to align the center of the machined hole with the tool axis.
Reset note : After adjustment is completed, be sure to tighten all the fastening nuts to prevent loosening during processing and causing offset.
Ⅱ. Height adjustment of the headstock and headstock
Loosen the fastening handle of the spindle box or headstock. By shaking the lifting handle, the transmission nut is driven to move, enabling the spindle to move up and down along the column.
After adjusting to the required height, tighten the secure handle, lock the position, and ensure that the distance between the spindle and the workpiece is appropriate.
Ⅲ. Setting of Spindle Speed and feed rate
Speed selection : According to the diameter of the drill bit and the hardness of the material, rotate the spindle speed change handle, and align the required speed value with the arrow position by referring to the spindle speed sign.
Feed rate adjustment : Pull the feed speed change handle on the left side of the feed box to select the appropriate feed rate (unit: mm/ revolution). The Z5150 model supports a total of 9 feed levels from 0.056 to 1.80 mm/ revolution.
Iv. Adjustment of Workbench Tilt Angle (If inclined surface processing is required)
Pull out the positioning conical pin and loosen the four nuts on the bracket.
Rotate the worktable to the required Angle (it can be tilted and rotated ±45° in the lateral plane).
After adjusting to the correct position, tighten the nut and reinsert the positioning conical pin to prevent displacement during processing.
V. Adjustment of the Main Shaft Balance Force
The main shaft balance is achieved by the coil spring, and the elastic force can be changed by adjusting the tightness of the screw or by turning the Angle of the spring box.
Adjustment standard: After the main shaft is installed, it is advisable that it does not sag by itself or slightly bounces up to avoid affecting the operational accuracy due to gravity drop.
Ⅵ. Zeroing of the scale and setting of depth limits
Gently touch the surface of the workpiece with the drill bit and rotate the dial to reset the pointer to zero.
Pre-adjust the limit nut according to the drilling depth to control the feed depth and prevent over-drilling.
When the drilling is nearly completed, slow down the feed rate. After completion, raise the drill bit to recheck the scale reading.
