1. Overview

A hydraulic press is a machine that uses liquid as the working medium and is made based on PASCAL's principle to transfer energy and achieve various processes. A hydraulic press is generally composed of three parts: the main machine, the power system and the hydraulic control system. Hydraulic presses are classified into valve hydraulic presses, liquid hydraulic presses and engineering hydraulic presses.

2. Working Principle

The basic principle is that the oil pump delivers hydraulic oil to the integrated cartridge valve block, and then distributes the hydraulic oil to the upper or lower chamber of the cylinder through various check valves and relief valves. Under the action of high-pressure oil, the cylinder moves. A hydraulic press is a device that uses liquid to transmit pressure. When a liquid transmits pressure in a sealed container, it follows PASCAL's law.

3. Application

This equipment is particularly suitable for various processes such as bending, forming and flanging of parts with central loads. When equipped with a blanking buffer device, it can also be used for punching and blanking processing. It is the preferred product for the shipbuilding industry, pressure vessel industry, chemical industry and other industries.


It is used for processes such as stretching, flipping, bending and stamping of metal sheet parts, and can also be used for general pressing processes. According to the user's needs, devices such as blanking buffer, material feeding and mobile worktable can be added.


In addition to being used for forging and forming, the three-beam four-column hydraulic press can also be used for straightening, press-fitting, packaging, block pressing and plate pressing, etc.


It can also be used for the pressing process of shaft parts, the calibration, crimping and press-fitting process of profiles, as well as the bending, contouring, shaping, embossing, nesting, stretching and pressing process of plastic materials such as stamping, bending, flanging and thin stretching of sheet metal parts. It can also be engaged in correction, press-fitting, and the pressing and forming of plastic and powder products. Because of its wide range of applications, it is also known as a universal hydraulic press.

4. Classification

According to structural forms, they are mainly classified as: four-column type, single-column type (C-type), horizontal type, vertical frame type, universal hydraulic press, etc.

It is mainly classified by application into metal forming, bending, stretching, blanking, powder (metal, non-metal) forming, press-fitting, extrusion, etc.
