The CNC inclined lathe, with its structural advantage of the inclined bed, stands out in terms of chip removal efficiency and rigidity stability, and is a core equipment for processing precision shaft and disc parts. To make good use of this equipment, one must not only strictly adhere to the safety operation red line but also be proficient in all the details of the process from startup preparation to workpiece processing, so as to balance processing accuracy and production safety.

Ⅰ. Before Operation: Strengthen the defense line of safety and preparation

The preparatory work before operation is the first line of defense to avoid accidents, and no step can be omitted.

1. Personal protection must be in place ‌ : tight-fitting work clothes and safety shoes must be worn, the hem of the shirt must be fully tucked into the pants, all long hair must be tucked into the work cap, and protective glasses must be worn properly. It is strictly prohibited to operate the machine tool with gloves on. Sandals, slippers and high heels are not allowed to enter the workshop. Loose clothing such as scarves and ties are also strictly forbidden to be worn to prevent being caught in rotating parts.

2. The inspection of the ‌ machine tool should be comprehensive ‌ : first, clear the debris around the machine tool to ensure sufficient operating space; Check the status of the operation panel, guide rail surface, jaws, tailstock and tool rest again to confirm that all components are not loose or damaged. Then, supply oil to each lubrication point as required by the machine tool manual, check the oil gauge and oil quantity, and let the machine tool preheat at low speed for 5 to 10 minutes to confirm that the lubrication system is operating normally.

3. Confirm the ‌ tooling workpiece in advance ‌ : Firmly clamp the workpiece with a three-jaw chuck. Immediately remove the wrench, wedge and other tools after clamping to prevent them from being thrown out after starting the machine. Check the model and edge condition of the cutting tool in advance, and make sure there are no obstacles in the tool rest's rotation path to prevent collisions during tool changing.

Ⅱ. During operation: Accurately complete the core processing steps

Every operational detail during the startup and operation stage directly affects the precision of the parts and the safety of the equipment, and must be carried out step by step in accordance with the specifications.

1. Startup and zeroing operation ‌ : After connecting the main power supply of the machine tool, first complete the operation of returning the reference points of the X and Z axes to confirm that the origin coordinates of each axis are accurate. It is strictly prohibited to open the door of the electrical cabinet when the machine tool is in operation throughout the process to avoid electric shock or affecting the stability of the circuit.

2. The precise tool setting process for ‌ slant turning ‌ : This is a core step to ensure machining accuracy. Taking cylindrical turning tools as an example: first, switch the machine tool to handwheel mode, start the spindle to rotate forward, select the Z-axis handwheel and slowly turn it to allow the tool to gently touch the workpiece end face. When a small amount of iron filings appear, enter Z0.0 in the corresponding tool compensation interface and press Enter to complete the Z-axis tool setting. Then switch to the X-axis, manually turn a small section of the outer circle of the workpiece, exit the tool along the positive Z-axis and stop the spindle. Use a micrometer to measure the diameter of the outer circle after turning, input the measured value into the corresponding X-axis bar of the tool compensation and press Enter to complete the X-axis tool setting. If it is a turning and milling compound model, the Y-axis tool setting operation also needs to be completed according to the same logic.

3. program verification and trial cutting ‌ : After inputting the processing program, check the code, address, value, sign, decimal point and syntax line by line to confirm that the parameters of the workpiece coordinate system are completely correct; First, run the machine without loading the workpiece to verify that there is no overtravel or collision in the tool path. During the trial cutting, adjust the rapid magnification switch to the lowest position. When the tool reaches a position 30-50mm away from the workpiece, turn on the feed hold and recheck whether the remaining coordinate values are consistent with the program.

4. Process control ‌ : Before starting the spindle for cutting, the protective door must be closed properly. It is strictly prohibited to open the protective door throughout the program operation. If during processing there are situations such as workpiece jumping, abnormal sounds, or loose fixtures, immediately press the emergency stop button to shut down the machine for inspection. After the fault is eliminated, the machine tool must be reconfigured to zero before the program can be restarted. After grinding or changing the cutting tools, the tool compensation value must be remeasured and the parameters updated to avoid dimensional deviations.

Ⅲ. After operation: Complete the wrangling and equipment maintenance

The finishing work after processing is a key link to extend the service life of machine tools.

First of all, the iron filings on the workbench and guide rails should be cleared in time. Wipe the entire machine tool with a clean cloth to keep the equipment and the workshop environment clean and tidy. Subsequently, inspect the wear condition of the oil inspection plate on the guide rail. If the wear is severe, replace it in time and replenish the lubricating oil and coolant to the standard liquid level. Finally, move the tool rest to a safe tool changing position far from the workpiece, turn the feed speed adjustment knob to zero, and successively turn off the power of the machine tool operation panel and the main power of the workshop. Complete the archiving of the operation records for the day.

As long as this set of operation procedures is strictly followed, not only can the high-precision advantage of the CNC inclined lathe be fully exerted, but also the vast majority of safety hazards can be effectively avoided, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
